In 2016 Window Wipers celebrates its 20th year in business.

‘We’ve come a long way from initially offering window cleaning services to the residential market back in 1996’ states Owner, Antony Uniewicz.

In 1997 Window Wipers cleaned the windows of its first commercial building; a 3 story office block at 18 Richardson Street in West Perth. This spurred the desire to broaden the company’s market into the commercial sector, which lead to the development of specialised staff skills through the acquisition of skilled staff and introduction of employee training programs.

Today, Window Wipers is well known in the commercial property market as a Specialist Commercial Window Cleaning Company. Regular work varies from relatively simple cleaning and maintenance programs to very difficult high access jobs.

‘Over the years, we have built the required skills and knowledge to efficiently use all the tools of the trade, which helps us to achieve the results our clients are looking for’ says Antony.

These tools range from high tech pure water systems to the hiring of specialist access equipment including cherry pickers and scissor lifts, all of which staff are trained and certified to use.  Rope access techniques are also utilised to complete high rise window cleaning jobs and the company’s safety record is second to none. All rope access technicians are highly trained and certified to Australian Standards or IRATA international standards.

Being proficient in accessing all areas of a building provided Window Wipers with the ability to expand its range of services to include facade maintenance.  In July 2014, FMWA (Facade Maintenance WA) was officially launched to service the growing client demand for façade maintenance. FMWA is a sister company that conducts maintenance work on the façade of commercial buildings.  Services include painting, glazing, cement repairs and consulting work as well as height safety system design, installation and various other related solutions.

With the resources and specialised skills shared between both businesses, clients are offered complete façade maintenance solutions.

Due to the company’s strong growth and a strategic move to position the company closer to the Perth CBD, in February 2015 the business office was relocated from Canning Vale to Carlisle.
